This week as I’ve watched the kids play, I’ve realized just how much difference a year can make. Ezekiel is expressing himself so clearly and Alijah’s interests have changed… from Daniel Tiger to Mine Craft & Power Rangers.
A year ago my husband snapped a few shots of us together for Mother’s day. Zeke was stumbling around and Alijah was quick every time to extend his hand or run help his little brother. He has always been so protective and caring and it’s beautiful to see Zeke exhibiting these same characteristics in return.
I am so grateful to have these sweet memories to look back on and thankful for the new ones we get to share. Yesterday we took a trip out to Oleta River State Park for the afternoon. We spent the evening walking the trails while escaping the mosquitos! Not as peaceful as I would have liked that part, but we made a game of it! Then the boys surprised me with a a beautiful little bouquet just in time to watch the sunset across the lake. I could not imagine a more perfect evening. My sweet husband once again captured it all.
It’s hard to express what the value of a photograph means to me, but in short…this is the best gift I could have ever received.
Today I turn 35 and I celebrate it with joy and a full heart.
